The new Corvette C5 was a brand new car, new design, new interior and new driveline. An aluminum block, 345 HP pushrod V8, named LS1, used a rear transaxle with 4-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. Only avaliable as a coupe in 1997. It came with 17" wheels in front and 18" wheels in the back.
